Controlling Impression
3rd anecdote
My aunt used to be known as the wild child of our family. When she was you she did have a job, but mostly cared about going out with her friends. Now as a mature woman she know how to balance her life. She has fun, but never forgets about the needs of her family. Her mom, my only grandma, moved back to Mexico and even though Marina's other sisters and brothers send my grandma money she feels it's her obligation to send her money as well. My aunt Marina is always thinking of my grandma. She recently had a $40 piercing done, so she felt it was only fair to send my grandma extra money. She knows my grandma doesn't work, so she tries to send as much money as she can. After my aunt knows she needs to take care of what is important before she can go out. Now, she wouldn't have it any other way.

2nd anecdote
Once when she was in high school her best friend, Pamela, came out to her. Marina didn’t know how to react to that, the reality of her best friend being gay couldn’t set in. Marina had to make a decision, she could either be there for Pamela or she could just walk away from her. It was really hard for Marina, because of her religious beliefs, but she was there for her friend when she came out to her parents. Marina looks back and knows she did the right think. Thanks to that she now has many great friends, that just happen to be gay.
1st anecdotes
As I grew up, however, she taught me to be true to my self. As the youngest of nine kids, she’s the wildest of them all. From tattoos to piercing, and short pixie cuts. To the image of us dancing to spanish rock in my grandma’s living room, that image will always stay vividly in my head. I admit, she doesn’t always do the right thing, but she always does what works for her, what makes her happy, and most of those actions are what taught her the life lessons she cherished till today. As a 19 year old dropout,my aunt, Marina, moved to Arizona with her boyfriend. It was thanksgiving night, and after meeting him that same night, he took her away. She had to learn how to work for what she wants. She now knows that nothing is going to come to you, that you have to make things happen. Even though her relationship didn’t work out, she learned how to survive on her own.
